“In this painting, you see a child and an adult walking hand in hand, walking away from the horizon. The horizon is the starting point. From there, they begin their journey, standing in the present and moving into the future. I was thinking about how the past, present, and future exist together. The child represents the past, the memories and experiences that shape us. The adult stands in the present, carrying that child forward.
