Nugi Ketut (b. 1996, Gianyar, Bali) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans illustration and three-dimensional work, distinguished by a critical sensitivity to composition and structure. He graduated from the Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, one of Indonesia’s leading art institutions. Alongside his artistic practice, Ketut has collaborated with hospitality and cultural projects, including Bali Beach, Sayan House, and Amandari, working as a graphic designer specialising in signage and visual identity.

Ketut’s work is deeply informed by Bali’s socio-historical development since the colonial period. He draws particular inspiration from early twentieth-century “imagemakers” who shaped visual narratives of the island. Through a research-driven, sociohistorical approach, his practice seeks to trace the underlying forces that have contributed to contemporary Balinese identity. By revisiting and reinterpreting these histories, Ketut aims to reveal the layered conditions that continue to shape Bali today.
