ABOUT THE ARTIST

A young person sitting on a couch with a contemplative expression, resting their chin on their hand, with a coffee table in front and a wall with a window in the background.

Satria Nugraha’s (b. 1986, Tasikmalaya) art practices vary from the crafts of printmaking techniques such as screenprint to other technical combinations of mixed media, collages, video montage, and installations. He studied fine art in Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and then moved to Bali in 2011. Satria’s visual achievements are heavily influenced by the simple things in life and his daily environment; human nature and his relationship with these things. For him, art is the practice of freedom both in idea and activity, where it represents the expectations of eternal harmony between humans and nature.
