ABOUT THE WORK
“Two figures dance through the night. This painting revealed itself slowly over time. I painted both sides of the canvas, washed it, bleached it, repainted it, and left it for a while before returning to it again. Slowly the figures began to appear, like faint starlight slowly growing brighter. As in many of my paintings, a second figure appears behind the main one. It can be seen as a shadow, an inner presence, or perhaps the inner child that walks beside us and protects us.” - Salvita De Corte
