ABOUT THE WORK

“Baby and I reflects on the memory of becoming a new mum. My world shrunk and became bigger at the same time. I was now forever connected to this being. The painting is about about a person and her inner child, a forever friend. Becoming a mother also meant spending more time with a child and not only witnessing but being a part of their growth, it made me look back at childhood. Recollecting memories of me as a child. The child is still within me. Even when faded, it is still there.”- Salvita De Corte
