Etsy Wika Silva

Esty Wika Silva (b. 1994) was born and raised in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, and currently resides and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Her artistic practice involves embroidery, which she
interprets not only as a medium but also as a means of processing, learning, healing, and as an instrument for discussing personal reflections on things experienced in her artistic work and daily activism.
She attempts to convey the experiences and reflections in a dystopian fiction story, both in embroidery and writing; set to depict the dynamics of the struggle and strength of the characters in her works. Silva is also a member of several collectives that focus on ecological justice, politics, social issues, art, and culture, with Bakudapan Food Study Group, Sejawat Merawat, and Struggle for Sovereignty.
